Women on Mission September 2018
Centennial Celebrated
Our congratulations and thanks go out to the Evansville Rescue Mission who recently celebrated a milestone in their history, the centennial anniversary of serving the tri-state’s most vulnerable.
Founded back in the late teens by Dr. Ernest “Pappy” Reveal and his wife, Edna, this outreach has stood the test of time and ministered to thousands of homeless men, at-risk youth, and less fortunate families.
Their annual food basket giveaway, now known as the Gobbler Gathering, will turn 96 this year and will assist more than 2,200 families in November.
Oakhill is privileged to help with this effort by collecting boxes of cake mix. Our goal is 600 boxes (any flavor). These may be left in the lower lobby beginning October 7th. Boxes will be provided for them. We have been involved in this ministry since 1996, when we collected 740 cans of green beans.
