MAY 2017 WORSHIP
Church Family,
The past month has been a great time of worship and fellowship for our Church Family, as we had a very powerful Easter weekend of worship, and it was a great time that I will not forget anytime soon! We had a powerful night of worship on Good Friday, and I am so thankful for the efforts of everyone who made this event happen. Our musicians, praise band members, childcare workers, and many more contributed to this worship event. I could not be more thankful.
Every year when Easter is over, someone always comes to me and says, “I love Easter music and I’m going to miss singing Easter songs.” Though I am always encouraged that Easter is a powerful time of worship, I want to remind us all that we will never stop singing “Easter” songs, because there will never be a day that we aren't celebrating the resurrection of Jesus! The resurrection of Jesus is the reason we gather on Sundays, and it’s the reason we have hope every morning when we wake up. The resurrection will never lose it’s power and singing resurrection songs will never get old. Every Sunday, we will consider Christ together, and what he did for us on the cross. Every Sunday, we will contemplate the cross. Every Sunday, we will celebrate the resurrection and God’s love for us.
A song we have been singing together recently, “Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery”, sings these words:
“Come behold the wondrous mystery
Slain by death the God of life
But no grave could e’er restrain Him
Praise the Lord; He is alive!
What a foretaste of deliverance
How unwavering our hope
Christ in power resurrected
As we will be when he comes”
I pray that we will never grow weary of these words, as they are filled with the truth of what Jesus did for us on the Cross. And we will sing these praises for eternity. He is our savior, and that will always be worth singing about! I love you all, and I will see you Sunday!
In Christ,
Jared
