Small groups will resume meeting at the church January 10 at 5:30pm.
CIRCLE
Over recent years the number of devices that a student can own has grown exponentially. From Xbox to game boys, to smart phones and tablets, it is clear to see that our students are plugged in. And most of these devices have or need internet access. These devices can do incredible things and can be a joy, but with all the incredible things they can do, they can also be a stumbling block.
We have hosted seminars to try and help parents understand the dangers of some of these devices and how to manage them, but with the growing number of devices it can be hard to monitor everything.
To help parents in this battle, I’d recommend looking into a product called Circle.
Circle is a device that you plug into your home wifi and manage through an app. The app allows you to set filters for content, time limits for individual apps and total screen time, pause the internet for the whole house, and set bed times for each device. Each child has their own unique profile, so you can set different limits and content filters for each age.
Currently Circle only works on your home wifi network; however, they have stated that they will be offering a cellular component within the next three months to manage cell phone usage as well.
