Kid's Happenings August 2016
Hello Church Family,
As I write this article I am sitting in a quiet café at Crossings Kids Camp. I’m
listening to soothing worship music and have a beautiful view of God’s creation through the large windows. I know what your thinking… and rightfully so… that doesn’t sound like something you would find at a kids camp?? This is not a typical time for me this week, ha. It has been overly exciting and busy with God clearly present. Fortunately, there are some very amazing leaders that came with our group that have given me some quiet time to take the focus away from camp and write this article.
Oh how I love having these specific leaders here with me. They have been showing these kids what it means to love like Jesus loves and to serve like Jesus served. They all have a smile on their face even when challenges arise. They are eagerly taking pictures and videos to share with the parents and even better… they are looking for opportunities to share God’s truth to our kids and the other children that are here.
I wish more Christians were more like these leaders. They are sacrificing their time, committing to serve others on a physical and spiritual level. Eagerly looking to experience amazing moments and share it with others. They are excited and not weary to do God’s work (maybe a little sleep deprived, but not weary). Smile in the midst of challenges. Imagine the difference Christians can make in the lives of others when we start focusing on our calling to make disciples... Thank you for allowing me to love on your kids.
